Alexis Candelaria is from Los Angeles and attended college at the University of La Verne where she earned her bachelor’s in psychology and then her master’s in education. She then served as a special education teacher for eight years, specializing in supporting students with emotional disturbance. In 2014, Alexis enrolled at Azusa Pacific University where she earned her Masters in educational leadership. Since 2016, she has been serving in a leadership capacity.
She penned her first novel, Have Faith, while working as a resource specialist teacher in 2014. After its publication, she started working on her second full length novel, In the Absence of Grace (due out in 2020).
Her latest book, In Disconnect, started off as a pet project that grew into something bigger. It took eight years to develop the short stories that would eventually become the book.
In her spare time, Alexis enjoys long distance running and reading books by her favorite author, Haruki Murakami.
